We’re searching for a strategic and detail-oriented Director of HR Operations & Compliance to create, scale & maintain essential HR programs that will support a growing organization's needs in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving startup environment.
In this role, you’ll build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the company as you scope and lead core HR functions including (but not limited to):
- New hire onboarding & training
- HR compliance & reporting
- Administration of payroll, benefits & leave programs
- Crafting of HR policies and procedures that are inline with legislative and audit requirements
- Building system processes and controls for IPO readiness
You’ll be a key member of Bolt’s People Operations team, driving employee engagement, building organizational scalability, and championing Bolt’s employer brand and reputation.
This mission-critical work will be instrumental in preparing Bolt for its next phase of business, and your success will allow the company to stay focused on innovating & bringing sustainability to the materials that touch our lives.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field
- 8+ years of related professional experience, preferably some spent in a manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of US & EU employment/labor laws
- Experience taking a late-stage startup to IPO and beyond is highly preferred
- Strong judgment, ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and an ability to develop positive working relationships across all levels and functions
- Strong attention to detail, organization and follow through
- H.R. certification, PHR or SPHR, is preferred
